A public comment period on Washington’s proposed Clean Fuel Standard closed Aug. 31. The program aims to incentivize fuel suppliers to reduce the carbon intensity of transportation fuels by 20 percent by 2038.

Evonik and Shell are working to decarbonize heavy-duty road transport with biobased liquid natural gas (bio-LNG).. Shell is supplying 100 tons of bio-LNG made from agricultural waste to Evonik. The fuel can reduce GHG emissions by 86 percent.
